Be specific

State what you want

End every letter with a numbered list of exactly what you want them to do.

Keep a record

BCC yourself on every email. If posting, send recorded delivery and keep a copy.

Escalate if ignored

No reply in 20 working days? Follow up in writing, then escalate to the relevant ombudsman.
